Geologica Resource Corp (CSE:GRCM) is one of the latest new listings on the Canadian Securities Exchange, trading under the symbol “GRCM”, following its Initial Public Offering.
The company raised gross proceeds of $683,000 from the placement of 6,830,000 shares priced at $0.10 per share, with Research Capital acting as agent for the offering.
The shares are trading at $0.25.
Geologica Resource Corp, a mineral exploration company, has an option to purchase 100% of the mineral claims known as the Topley Project, located in central British Columbia.
The Topley Property area is situated in the Babine Lake area of the Omineca Mining Division within
north central British Columbia 58 km east of the town of Smithers.
The Babine Lake area has been historically well known for a significant number of porphyry-style mineral occurrences and deposits, most notable are the Granisle and the Bell Mines.
The Bell copper mine was also a significant producer of gold and reportedly produced 21,349 tonnes of copper and 29,000 ounces gold in 1990.
Additional mineral potential in the area has been ranked extremely high, as the Babine Lake area is the fourth most prospective in the entire Skeena-Nass mineral potential project area
Mineral deposit types present in the region are classified as porphyry and epigenetic, characterized by disseminated, vein, and breccia hydrothermal systems.
Six MinFile occurrences are located within the 2,706-hectare Topley Property.
All are classed as showings except for the Tachi Prospect which occurs east of the highway within the east central part of the claim group.
Copper mineralization and related secondary copper oxide minerals and other sulphides observed on the Topley claims include, in order of abundance; malachite, chalcopyrite, magnetite, pyrite, molybdenite, azurite, and bornite.
These minerals are consistent with a widespread copper/molybdenite porphyry system on the Topley claims.
